Mexican-Inspired Pizzas from Top Chef Katsuji Tanabe

Who’s ready for our next Pop Up!? Our opening dates are picked, but while we are gearing up, heating up our stoves and prepping our staff, we are holding ONE LAST POP UP. We’ve partnered up with our friends over a V Pizza and will be sharing their kitchen THIS Friday (2/18) for some Mexican Pizza! Katsuji Tanabe will be there serving up FOUR unique Mexican-inspired pizzas to share for just one night only.

This event will take place at V Pizza’s cocktail bar, Flask, in Brier Creek from 7pm-9pm. These pizzas will include fresh ingredients and the same layers of both Mexican and Japanese flavors that will be found in many of a’Verde’s signature dishes, all cooked to perfection in V Pizza’s iconic 905 degree wood-fired, stone ovens. It is sure to be a collaboration you won’t want to miss! You can purchase tickets ahead of time at the link below! Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the day of the event.

Who is V Pizza?

V Pizza is the idea, creation, and funding of three Jacksonville natives. The main goal was to bring true Neapolitan pizza to our home town. While we were excited to bring authentic, very high quality food to Jacksonville, we also had concerns that the general opinion of what pizza was would be different from what we were serving. Cheese from a buffalo? Pizzas that aren’t perfectly round? Burn marks on the crust? We were certainly taking a risk doing something different, but we felt confident that our community was ready for the taste of something that has been perfected by Italians for hundreds of years.

V Pizza as since expanded to North Carolina with two locations under the owner Anthony Rapillo. This pop up will take place at V Pizza and Flask, located in Brier Creek.
